Accordingly to Health Affairs’ analysis, 22.5 % of the total estimated $2.76 trillion cost of the Affordable Care Act through 2022 will go to overhead cost. This ENORMOUS cost will be covered by hard working taxpayers. For the life of me, I do not understand why working people have to take care of those who chose not to work. I know that there are people, at no fault of their own, that have fallen onto hard times & need help. I’m all for that & would never turn those ones away. But on the other hand, there’s a vast majority who have made living off the taxpayers a way of life. Hell, I don’t understand why I have to pass a drug test at my job when most do not who collect benefits that I have paid through my weekly checks. Why not use the same insurance that the federal government uses since they just spend 2 % in overhead cost on their traditional Medicare program? In fact, as a taxpayer, I demand that our government should do away with the health care & benefits they voted for themselves & make them pay & use the same system that the average taxpayer has to seek out. As I’ve stated here several times, looking back years from now, we will go down as by far the most stupid generation for letting things like this happen.
White male born in Arkansas back in 1962. Grew up reciting the Pledge of Allegiance & the town prayed before sporting events. I knew that if I disrespected any teacher, I would be corrected in school & at home. I was raised to respect my elders & the police. Sad but I feel like a dying breed. I've slowly watch my country lose it's morals because political idiots took God out while I sat idly by. Shame on my generation.... View all posts by Nailbender
